<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">Our main event will take place between 13</span></em><em><span style="color: #808080;">th</span></em><em><span style="color: #808080;"> and 17</span></em><em><span style="color: #808080;">th</span></em><em><span style="color: #808080;"> of June at The Old Fire Station in the centre of Bristol.</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;">  </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">We have 10,000 sq feet of exhibition space in this awesome venue which we hope to fill with about 150 designers from the local area.</span></em></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">As well as the usual range of exciting and inspirational design work on show, a new addition to this year’s festival will be a programme of inspiring and educational seminars and workshops taking place in the main venue and across Bristol.</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;">  </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">Exact details will be confirmed at a later date.</span></em></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">Our aim this year is to collaborate with existing creative events in the city, and encourage people to set up their own independent events under the Bristol Design Festival umbrella.</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;">  </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">For example we are working in partnership with Bristol City Council to organise an Eco-Design Exhibition at the CREATE CENTRE from the 23</span></em><em><span style="color: #808080;">rd</span></em><em><span style="color: #808080;"> of June.</span></em></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">You will all be pleased to know that due to its great success last year we are running the Grafikea Competition for a second time with a top prize of £250!</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;">  </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">The same simple rules still apply, but for more information on how to enter, <a title="Visit the Bristol Design Festival" href="http://bristoldesignfestival.com/" target="_blank">please visit the website</a>.</span></em></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">This year, prizes will be awarded on the night to designers in several different categories, including: an Eco-Design Award, New Entrepreneur Award and several Best Of categories.</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;"> </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">Prizes so far will include free office space, 1 year’s personal mentoring from an award winning design entrepreneur, cash, designer products and of course the much sought after, locally designed Bristol Design Festival trophies.</span></em></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">As well as being under the scrutiny of several judges from the professional design community, this year the general public will have their say too!</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;">  </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">In collaboration with <a title="Mobile Pie" href="http://www.mobilepie.co.uk/" target="_blank">Mobile Pie</a>, visitors to the show will now be able to vote for their favourite designers by txt message.</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;">  </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">The Public Choice award will be presented on the closing night of the festival.</span></em></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">The guys at <a title="Smarter Products" href="http://smarterproducts.co.uk/" target="_blank">smarterproducts.co.uk</a> are once again supporting the event, so please check out their website.</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;">  </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">The whole event will be filmed and then released as a short documentary through local DVD Magazine, 5 on 1 and we have teamed up with Business Link to offer free business advice to all of our exhibitors.</span></em></span></p>
</blockquote>
<blockquote>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">Offers of support are coming through all the time, but we still need lots more.</span></em><span><em><span style="color: #808080;">  </span></em></span><em><span style="color: #808080;">So if you would like to support the event in anyway, either financially or in-kind, please, please get in touch.</span></em></span></p>
